RaceTrac Expands EV Charging Network To Texas

ATLANTA – (April 22, 2024) – RaceTrac, a convenience store leader and the 18th largest private company in the U.S. has announced the continued expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) charging network with five new locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The chargers will offer quick charging options for all battery electric vehicles in approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

Charging stations will be available at the following five existing RaceTrac store locations:

  • 4055 S. Great Southwest Parkway, Grand Prairie, TX  75052
  • 6421 Broadway Blvd., Garland, TX  75043
  • 30 N FM 548, Forney, TX  75126
  • 801 N. Highway 78, Wylie, TX  75098
  • 3510 Carbon Rd., Irving, TX  75038

“RaceTrac has been a part of the Dallas-Fort Worth community since 1975 and pioneers in the transportation and fuel industry since our founding in 1934,” said RaceTrac Chief Commercial Officer, AJ Siccardi. “As the needs of America’s motorists continue to evolve, we hope to innovate with our ‘Whatever Gets You Going’ style of convenience, by offering the latest fueling options—to serve our guests on the go.”

These additions follow RaceTrac’s first EV charging station installation in Oxford, Alabama.

Each RaceTrac charging station was designed with EV guests top-of-mind, boasting one direct current fast charger (DCFC) with one CCS port and one CHAdeMO port situated under a canopy to provide shelter. In addition to new chargers, these RaceTrac locations continue to offer a variety of traditional fuel options.

Last year, all-electric car registrations in the U.S. exceeded 1.1 million for the first time, with the number of electric vehicles on U.S. roads projected to grow significantly by 2030.

“As leaders in the convenience store industry, offering convenient EV charging for our guests is a natural evolution for RaceTrac,” said Siccardi. “And it makes perfect sense to install our newest charging stations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area where EV adoption is accelerating faster than anywhere in the state.”
